THE OBSERVED LIFE.
For nearly two decades, I have lived behind a lens, not in a classroom. Based in South Africa, my work is the result of a SIXteen-year sILENT apprenticeship. QUIETLY observing the world from the outside, finding beauty in the overlooked AND SOMETIMES MUNDANE; BRINGING LIFE TO AND capturing the cinematic SIMPLICITY of the everyday.
My background is not one of academic theory, but of raw life experience. This is my superpower. It allows me to bypass the technicalities of the 'perfect' shot in favor of the emotional truth AND VULNERABILITY of the scene.
My work exists in THE IN-BETWEEN; NEITHER HERE, NOR THERE. OCCUPYING the SPACES where we feel a sense of nostalgic recoLLECTION and aT TIMES, A touch of unease. I TELL dream-like, cinematic sTORIES that invite the viewer not just to look at the frame, but to step into it, ALLOWING THEM TO STEP OUT OF THEIR REALITY. These are memories recalled; FRAGMENTS OF TIME AND PLACE, captured in the UNOBSERVED hours.
when the world  AND TIME ITSELF feels suspended between a previous thought and a future event.
